Newtek will be releasing LightWave 7 later today at Siggraph, notes Macworld UK. The upgrade to the popular 3D modeling application reportedly includes a Squash and Stretch tool; the ability to Load and Save Hierarchical Motion data containing all the relevant components, motions and channels for a character group for realistic animation; and the ability to allow mass scene changes to be easily executed. Like LightWave 6.5, the software will ship Carbonized for Mac OS X and will sell for US$1,999.
