Sony announces five-megapixel digital camera
Sony today introduced the CyberShot DSC-F707, its first five-megapixel digital camera. Aimed at the high-end consumer market, the camera is capable of taking photographs with a maximum image size of 2560×1720.
Apple offers “DVD Authoring Simplified” seminar in London
MacUser notes that Apple has announced a new seminar taking place October 16 in London, England. “DVD Authoring Simplified” will showcase how you can intergrate iMovie, Final Cut Pro, QuickTime, and Photoshop in the DVD authoring process. In addition, Alias|Wavefront’s Maya 3D animation software will be demonstrated.

Our friends at the Atlanta Macintosh Users Group let us know that Apple will be presenting at their general meeting on August 21st. Apple Computer’s Jack Quattlebaum will be giving live demonstrations of the new iMacs, Quicksilver G4s, and summaries of all the products introduced at Macworld New York last month. In addition, a Mac OS X patch for the original Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force will be released at the same time. The Expansion Pack features an interactive tour mode, 21 new multiplayer maps, new characters, new single player missions, new alien creatures, and a new “Borg Slayer” game. Aspyr will start accepting preorders on their Web site this Thursday. STV:EFX will only be available via the Web for US$19.95.
