nVIDIA preps GeForce3 MX, Ultra

nVIDIA is rumored to be announcing the GeForce3 MX this Friday, followed by the GeForce3 Ultra on Monday, according to M3DZone (as noted by The Register). The GeForce3 MX will be a more affordable, stripped down version of the current GeForce3, running at 175MHz, making it more suitable for OEM configurations (such as Apple’s Power Mac G4). The Ultra, meanwhile, will be available in 250MHz and 260MHz configurations.

Portable photo printer coming from Sony in November

Sony has introduced the portable DPP-MP1 photo printer, a palm-sized device that can print full-color photos in under two minutes. The printer weighs less than one pound and features a USB interface for connecting to a computer, as well as a Memory Stick slot for printing directly from stored images. The DPP-M1 will sell in November for US$280. An optional battery pack will be available for $70.
