Palm yesterday inadvertently updated its Web site with information on the as-of-yet unannounced Palm m125 handheld. The device will compete directly with Handspring’s new Visor Neo by offering the same 33MHz processor and 8MB of memory. The m125 will also feature an SD card slot like the m500-series, and will ship with Palm OS 4 (although it won’t be upgradeable) and a USB cradle. The m125 will sell for US$249.

A Morningstar.com article explains that a “box is just a box” in the PC industry, responding to comments from Compaq and HP executives who said the company is sticking with PC sales essentially to push innovation. “Let’s think about this for a minute.

Adobe, which postponed its earnings last week following the terrorist attack, this morning reported a profit of US$40.3 million for its third quarter on revenues of $292.1 million, missing earlier estimates. The earnings results represent a 49 percent decline in profit and an 11 percent decline in revenue from the previous year. Adobe cited a “significant decline in Japan revenue as the main reason for missing the targeted revenue.”

Graeme Devine has released a public beta of Castle Wolfenstein MP 1.0b for Mac OS X, the modern rendition of the classic computer game. The game is still in the early stages of development, however, and may not run properly on all configurations.

VersionTracker notes the 4.3 release of drivers for HP’s DeskJet 800/900 series of printers. There’s no mention as to the changes in this version, however.
