Saitek has introduced a new USB-based joystick for the Mac and PC, the Cyborg 3D Force Stick. The device includes four thumb buttons, four base buttons, a rapid response trigger, 8-way POV hat switch, lever throttle, and 3D twist. For PC users, the joystick also includes force feedback support, which is currently not widely supported on either OS 8/9 or Mac OS X. As with its previous joysticks, Saitek promises equal comfort for both left- or right-handers, providing dual left/right hand throttles.

Archos yesterday introduced the Jukebox Multimedia, which it bills as a handheld entertainment center, combining an MP3 player and recorder, photo album viewer, still camera and camcorder, and video player and recorder.

3Dlabs has announced Oxygen Graphics card bundles that, for the first time, provide support for the 22-inch Apple Cinema Display under Windows 2000 or Windows NT. The Oxygen GVX420 can support two Cinema Displays from a single graphics card, while the Oxygen GVX1 Pro 1.5v can support one Cinema Display; each bundle comes with the necessary DVI to ADC connectors and a certified Apple power supply for powering each display in a Windows PC configuration.

Eizo Nanao Technologies has announced three new flat-panel LCD monitors for both home and professional users: the 16-inch FlexScan L465 LCD for home and small business users; and the 15-inch FlexScan L375 SlimEdge LCD and 18.1-inch FlexScan L685 SlimEdge LCD for professionals. The L465 features a 1280×1024 native resolution, support for digital and analog video inputs, and built-in speakers.

NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America has introduced its SpectraView family of high-end CRT displays, which includes the 19″ NEC MultiSync FP955 (US$1,149), and 22″ NEC MultiSync FP1375X ($1,749) and Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u
