Sony updates digital video microscopes

Sony today announced two new TechnoLOOK digital video microscopes that feature a Memory Stick slot and USB terminal for easy transferring of images to a computer. The TechnoLOOK line of microscopes feature a 7-inch LCD screen and an adjustable, 410,000 pixel CCD camera head that swivels up to 45 degrees, S-Video and Composite Video inputs and outputs, and 4x to 40x zoom (model TW-TL5M) or 10x to 100x zoom (model TW-TL10M).

Plextor CD recorder hits 40x

Plextor today announced the PlexWriter 40/12/40A CD-RW, the world’s first CD recorder to boast 40x recording speeds. Additionally, the drive features Burn-proof technology, a black tray that reduces C1 error rates, an improved power supply that decreases noise, and a diagnostic system that tells users if errors were caused by the drive, media, or system. The drive is currently available in an internal E-IDE (ATAPI) version for US$209.
