Beginning April 1, British Telecom (BT) will cut the price of its wholesale ADSL connections from £25 to £14.75 per month (about US$21) in an effort to reduce broadband costs for end-users, according to Macworld UK. Two separate studies found that the most significant obstacle to the widespread adoption of broadband in Europe has been high prices.

Automatic Duck today released Automatic Composition Import FCP Suite, which includes Automatic Sequence Export, an OMF export plug-in for Final Cut Pro 3, and Import FCP, an import plug-in for After Effects 5.5. The US$395 software allows users to seamlessly work with both Final Cut Pro and After Effects on their projects and is compatible with both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.

TECSoft today announced its AppleScript for Success Seminar, a half-day event co-sponsored by Apple that will be touring nine cities in the North America from March 11 through May 14. Locations include New York, Reston (VA), Dallas, Boston, Santa Monica, Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta, and Minneapolis. IDG World Expo today announced that Apple has joined the lineup of exhibitors who will be at the BioITWorld Conference & Expo.

Registration has begun for Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, which takes place from May 6-10 at the San Jose Convention Center in California. Those who register prior to April 14 can do so for US$1,295 — a $300 savings off the regular price. Also through April 14, Apple is offering a “Getting Started Bundle” that includes one full conference pass, one developer discount coupon on an Apple system and display, and a one-year ADC Select Membership for $1,695.
