Apple’s GarageBand website (https://www.apple.com/mac/garageband/) says that new features are coming to the music creation studio. The update will arrive right in time for the debut of Apple Music, Apple’s new streaming music service.

The site says the new features will be available on June 30 in the United States and as “coming soon” in other countries, which is consistent with the Apple Music website. However, Apple doesn’t say what the new features of GarageBand will be.

Synthesizer developer Waldorf has released its Nave advanced wavetable synthesizer plug-in for Mac OS X 10.7 or higher Windows 7 or higher, as well as the Attack advanced drum synthesizer for the iPad.

Nave for Mac OS X runs 32- bit as well as 64-bit host software supporting AAX64-, AU-, VST2.4-, and/or VST3-compatible virtual instruments. The Attack virtual drum and percussion soft synth is complemented by an integrated 16-step sequencer.

MacDaddy (http://macdaddy.io) has launched Mac Backup Guru 5.0, an update to their backup app for Mac OS X.

Mac Backup Guru offers direct drive cloning, synchronization, and incremental snapshots of data. Users can backup small amounts of files and data, or entire drives full of data. Version 5.0 offers an improved interface, faster and more stable cloning ability, more intuitive scheduling, improved incremental snapshots, and better performing background synchronization.
