Thank goodness for Data Rescue 3, a data rescue utility for Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher from Prosoft Engineering (http://www.prosoftengineering.com). I recently had to rescue my iPhoto library from the Trash, which had been emptied (don’t ask why I had to do this; just take my word). And Data Rescue did the job well.

Formatting hyperlinks in InDesign CS3 and CS4 is a pain — they have to be formatted one at a time. That means that every new hyperlink has to be selected and made into a URL destination. Granted this isn’t hard, just unnecessary.

If your hard drive is running out of room to store all the movies, music and software you’ve accumulated, maybe it’s time to get a Blu-ray burner. Apple may have dissed Blu-ray, but some of us love it. And we can at least burn to Blu-ray discs on a Mac even if we can’t play back Blu-ray movies (at least without a kludgy workaround).
