Boom turns your Mac’s volume up to 11 (maybe 12)

If you’ve ever found yourself dealing with low audio output on a Mac (more common on laptops with their small speakers than desktops such as the iMac), Global Delight’s Boom will boost the audio volume. Significantly, as in up to 400%.

Once installed, a Boom icon appears in the Mac OS X menu bar. You can use it to adjust the volume via a slider and tweak Boom’s settings (more on that in a moment).

For many people, the iPad can’t replace a full-fledged laptop. However, the ability to use an external keyboard makes it more laptop-like — and a more-than-suitable netbook replacement. The US$49.99 Griffin Survivor case (http://macte.ch/Uqkfj) is a welcome addition to the line of highly-protective cases for the iPhone 4.  This case was literally designed for war as it meets US Department of Defense MIL-STD-810 and UK Department of Defense Def-Stan 00-35.

For civilians it means extreme protection at a great price.  This has replaced my Otterbox
Defender and is the case I use to protect my own iPhone.
