Macsimum Poll: will ‘antennagate’ stop you from buying an iPhone 4?


In this week’s poll, we’re asking if “antennagate” — the hoopla, whether real or perceived over iPhone 4 reception/antenna issues — will keep you from buying an iPhone 4. The poll can be found at the right hand side of our home page, below the Macsimum Opinion column.

In our last poll, we asked if you already had an iPhone 4, if you were experiencing said problems. Fifty-percent said you didn’t have an iPhone 4, 33% said “no,” nine percent said “yes, but no worse than with previous versions” and 6% said “yes, more than with previous versions.”

O’Reilly Press has published “Adobe Photoshop CS5 One-on-One” by author Deke McClelland. The US$49.99 book/DVD combo offers step-by-step tutorials, hours of DVD-video demonstrations, and lots of hands-on projects to help you improve your knowledge and hone your skills.

“Adobe Photoshop CS5 One-on-One” simulates a classroom environment with one-on-one attention as you proceed from lesson to lesson. McClelland is a lecturer on Adobe Photoshop and the larger realm of computer graphics and design. He has hosted the interactive videos that ship with Adobe Photoshop and other products.

SyncMate for Mac OS X gets maintenance update

Eltima Software has updated SyncMate (http://www.sync-mac.com/), software for syncing data between a Mac to Windows Mobile handheld devices, to version 2.6.1118. It’s a maintenance update — free to registered users of version 2.x — that squishes some bugs.

SyncMate lets you synchronize Favorites, Contacts, Calendar, Notes in mobile device with Bookmarks, Address Book, iCal, Stickies on Mac OS X. The software enables Internet sharing between the Mac and the mobile device. The connection can be made via USB cable or Wi Fi.

CAZE announces Full Swarovski case for the iPhone 4

CAZE has announced the Full Swarovski case (http://macosg.me/2/k2) for the iPhone 4. The US$199 case combiners Swarovski crystals and an ultra thin design.

It comes in four “flashed colors.” CAZE used Zero 5, the World’s thinnest transparent iPhone case for crystal embellishment, so the crystal case has the thinnest possible wall-thickness and can fully protect the chrome edges and corners of an iPhone, according to the folks at CAZE.
