iFuntastic iPhone tool ready for latest versions of iOS

BitSplit Enterprises has released iFuntastic 4.7.2 (http://bitsplit-enterprises.com/iFuntastic/), an update of the free tool for customizing your iPhone. The new version adds support for iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2.


The latest version also has support for iTunes 7.5. iFuntastic requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and iPhone OS 2.1 to 3.2 (iPhone) and/or 3.11 (iPod touch).

VueScan for Mac OS X updated to version 8.6.50

Hamrick Software has released Vuescan 8.6.50, a new version of the VueScan software for Mac OS X that’s designed to let users produce better digital images from color snapshots, negatives, slides and documents. It’s a maintenance update with some bug fixes.

The Standard Edition of VueScan costs US$39.95 and the Professional Edition is $79.95 for a single user license. Multi-user licenses are available. A fully functional, trial copy of VueScan is available for download from the Hamrick web site (http://www.hamrick.com).

MoneyWell for Mac OS X rings up version 1.6.1

No Thirst Software has updated MoneyWell (ttp://nothirst.com/moneywell/), the personal financial application for Mac OS X, to version 1.6.1. The new version improves the description of changed information during sync conflict resolution and fixes some bugs.

The MoneyWell update also provides a new report that uses active filters to generate a hard copy of the selected transactions. There’s also a duplicate transaction review, daily balance display and the ability to copy/past transactions.

Apple manager arrested, accused of accepting kickbacks

Paul Shin Devine, a global supply manager, was among two people arrested and accused of accepting more than US$1 million in kickbacks from half a dozen Asian suppliers of iPhone and iPod accessories, reports the “San Jose Mercury News” (http://macosg.me/2/pc)

Devine and Andrew Ang of Singapore were named in a 23-count federal grand jury indictment for wire fraud, money laundering and kickbacks. The alleged scheme used an elaborate chain of U.S. and foreign bank accounts and one front company to receive payments, per the “Mercury News.”
