Adobe releases Square for Mac OS X

Adobe Labs (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/) has released a preview version of Flash Player “Square” that enables native 64-bit support on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows operating systems.

Adobe says they’ve made this preview available so that users can test existing content and new platforms for compatibility and stability. Because this is a preview version of Flash Player, don’t expect it to be as stable as a final release version of Flash Player. Use caution when installing Flash Player “Square” on production machines.

Consumer electronics spending trend could be good news for Apple

The U.S. consumer electronics (CE) market has been hit disproportionately hard by the economic downturn, with U.S. households projected to spend 17% less on CE in 2010 than the previous year. This is the largest projected decline in CE spending among the 20 countries surveyed by the International Data Corp. (http://www.idc.com) in a recent ConsumerScape 3600 study. Strangely, this could be good news for Apple.
