Patent shows Apple still innovating with input methods

An Apple patent (number 7,757,186) has appeared at the US Patent & Trademark Office that shows that Apple is far from finished when it comes to innovative ways to control its various devices.

The patent is for motion plane correction for MEMS-based input devices. The invention relates to technology for monitoring motion of electronic input devices, and more particularly to technology for motion plane correction of motion-based input devices. The inventor is Farshid Moussavi.

Aquafadas has updated BannerZest (http://www.aquafadas.com), a flash presentation tool for professional and amateur web designers, to version 2.2.2. The upgrade adds jQuery compatibility for the alternate slideshow (javascript).

Apple to open retail store in Hong Kong

Apple will open a retail store in Hong Kong sometime in 2011, reports “CrunchGear” (http://macosg.me/2/im).

The first Shanghai store opened last week, and Apple plans on opening 25 new retail outlets in the country. “CrunchGear” notes that the The retail expansion is a huge strategy shift for Apple. Up until last week’s opening, there was only one Apple Store in all of China — Beijing, which opened in 2008.
