Avenza Systems (http://www.avenza.com), producers of MAPublisher cartographic software for Adobe Illustrator and Geographic Imager spatial tools for Adobe Photoshop, has announced that the upcoming release of Geographic Imager, version 3.2, will include the ability to dynamically apply terrain shading and colorization to digital elevation models within Adobe Photoshop.

MakeMusic (http://www.finalemusic.com) has announced the simultaneous release of Finale NotePad 2011 and an updated, free-of-charge Finale Reader. Both music notation software packages support current operating systems and provide compatibility with files created with Finale 2011, MakeMusic’s music notation software program.

DVDxDV Pro (http://www.dvdxdv.com/) has been updated to version 3.0. The new version includes a new video timeline similar to the ones in found in iMovie or Final Cut Pro.

It provides instant access to any location in a DVD movie. The new timeline can be expanded by zooming in or contracted by zooming. With the timeline, the exact beginning and ending for movie clips can now be set.

PCI Geomatics (http://www.pcigeomatics.com), a developer of geo-imaging software and systems, is pleased to announce the availability of an upgrade to FeatureObjeX, its software tool for the automatic and semi-automatic extraction of visual features in satellite and aerial imagery. 
 
The latest version of FeatureObjeX 1.0.4 includes linear feature extraction that allows users to extract centerlines of polygonal markup using a toolbar command. It also includes shape labeling whereby users can create and edit labels and add text to shape layers.
