Polls, charts offer predictions for tomorrow’s Apple announcement

Millennial Media: Apple OS ad requests up 35% in June

Mobile ad network Millennial Media says that, globally, Apple OS requests are up by 36% in June, after dropping 33% in May, as reported by “TechCrunch” (http://macosg.me/2/jj).

iPad requests are also increasing at a fast rate, growing 206%t in June, after rising 160 % in May. In terms of ad impressions, Apple’s OS remained the leading smartphone OS on Millennial’s network in June with a 56% share of impressions and an 8% growth month-over-month.

Senator writes Jobs about iPhone 4 problems

Democratic New York Senator Charles Schumer has written an open letter to Apple CEO Steve Jobs about the iPhone 4 antenna issues. He says the company’s current solutions are “insufficient” and wants Apple to provide a free fix for consumers, reports “AppleInsider” (http://www.appleinsider.com).

Analyst says iPhone 4 design fix already in the works

Apple has “instituted a design fix” for the iPhone 4 that better insulates the phone’s transceiver module, according to Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar. “Barron’s (http://macosg.me/2/jh) adds that the analyst is likely to offer free bumpers “as an intermediary solution.”

Kumar says he’s unclear if Apple will have a recall of the iPhone 4. The Sellers Research Firm (that’s me) says no, it won’t.
