Release of the iPad in China gets a bit closer

iPad has received a safety certification mark from Chinese regulators, which means the Apple tablet moves a bit closer to be being released in the country.

Apple has made no announcement about the iPad being sold in China at this time. However, the company appears to be preparing it for an entrance into the Chinese market, says “PC World” (http://macosg.me/2/ni). On Monday, the device was given the China Compulsory Certification by the China Quality Certification Center.

Apple retail stores successful in luring Windows users to the Mac

Apple’s retail stores, boosted by strong demand for iPads and Macs, are helping the tech giant intensify its assault on Microsoft, according to “TheStreet” (http://macosg.me/2/nh).

In a note to clients, Charlie Wolf, an analyst at Needham & Company, says that, that during the June quarter, Windows users purchased half of the 677,000 Macs sold in the stores. This represented over 20% of the estimated number of Windows users who switched to a Mac during the quarter, he says.
