Over 160,000 preregistered Web addresses containing the new “.biz” domain suffix went live today. The new domain suffix was created to denote business Web sites. New domains using the .biz suffix can be registered at over 35 registrars in the U.S. alone. Other new domain suffixes slated to debut soon include “.info,” “.name,” “.pro,” “.aero,” “.museum” and “.coop.”

While Mac OS X users and administrators struggle to find ways to back up their data on the new operating system, Dantz Development has announced today that a Mac OS X-compatible version of their popular backup software, Retrospect, will not be available until February-March 2002, according to MacCentral.

Set in the 1950s, Otto Matic pits players as a robot that must save the Earth from the clutches of The Giant Brain from Planet X.

id Software has released Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer Test 2 for Mac OS X. Developed by Gray Matter Interactive and Nerve Software, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a 3D first-person shooter that puts players in the center of the Axis and Allied powers in World War II. The test version is primarily designed to test and tweak the game’s networking code, although thousands of players have taken advantage of the free test version to get a taste of the unreleased game.
