America Online has released a new Mac OS X beta client — version 19B — for its popular online service. The new version is available from within AOL at keyword “Beta.”

Blizzard Entertainment has released a new Mac-only patch, version 1.09d, for both Diablo II and expansion set Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. The new version fixes a problem with version 1.09c, released earlier this week, that caused Mac users to be kicked off Battle.net at random intervals. The patch is available by logging in to the Battle.net service.

LimeWire 1.8b, the Gnutella client for peer-to-peer file sharing, is now available for both OS 8/9 and Mac OS X, according to VersionTracker. Version 1.8b adds an integrated MP3 player with playlist support, the ability to add category-specific information to files and the ability to send and receive rich queries for more precise category-specific searching.

Aspyr Media today announced that it will bring Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the action-adventure game based on the wildly popular novel from J.K. Rowling, to the Mac in late December, according to Inside Mac Games. The announcement coincides with the debut of the film in theatres today.
