The Washington Business Journal (article not online) reported today that Apple will launch a second retail store near Washington, DC — 9.6 miles from one of its first national locations which opened May 19 in McLean, Virginia. The new store is slated to open November 1 in Arlington, VA at the Clarendon Market Common, less than two miles from the American capital.

Stone Design, a company that develops OS X utilities for building Web sites, has released updates for its studio applications. Included in the studio bundle are Create, GIFfun, SliceAndDice, Pack Up & Go, TimeEqualsMoney, PhotoToWeb and Pstill. Details and download links are available from the Stone Design Web site.

Symantec has confirmed that an AppleScript Virus is making its way to some Mac users. As reported here earlier today, the virus affects users of Entourage and Outlook Express. Entourage should warn of suspicious behavior before sending out the mass emails. However, there are currently no reports of any warnings from Outlook Express.

Extension Overload, an extensions, control panels, control strip modules and contextual menus management application, has been updated to version 5.8.4. The update fixes -6090 Errors on launch as well as fixing some cosmetic bugs with URL buttons.
