More than 40% of U.S. broadband households plan to buy a smart home device

New research from Parks Associates (www.parksassociates.com) shows that 41% of U.S. broadband households plan to purchase a smart home product in the next 12 months, including 27% with high purchase intentions.

The most popular devices include smart smoke/CO detectors, thermostats, and lightbulbs. Additional Parks Associates research shows that:

° Sixty percent of U.S. broadband households with insurance are interested in a smart home product that can detect, notify, or prevent damage or loss from water or fire or theft.

TDF releases Mac-compatible LibreOffice 5.4.3

The Document Foundation (TDF) has announced LibreOffice 5.4.3 (http://www.libreoffice.org/download/) , the third minor release of LibreOffice 5.4 family.

LibreOffice is macOS compatible and comprises programs for word processing, the creation and editing of spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams and drawings, working with databases, and composing mathematical formulae. The new version includes approximately 50 bug and regression fixes.
