Static Z Software (http://staticz.com) has introduced Iris 1.0 for Mac OS X. It’s a screen recorder that offers users the option to record directly to h.264, Apple ProRes — or to record and encode later.

Capture performance is maximized with GPU-accelerated processing and encoding on supported Macs. Additional features include application audio capture, color matching, advanced naming and tagging, presets, “talking head,” timed recordings, and sharing of recordings.

The free-to-try watermarked version of Iris 1.0 is available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Video category. The full version of Iris can be obtained for US$39.99 via an in-app purchase.
