Microsoft has announced OneNote for Mac. It’s the first Mac version of the tool to jot down your ideas, capture your collection of web clippings and research, plan your trips and events, check your to-dos and shopping lists and share your notes with friends and co-workers.

OneNote for Mac is compatible with Mac OSX 10.9 and above. You can download it for free from the Mac App Store. You can also visit http://www.onenote.com to access all the different OneNote apps including a few OneNote services available that are designed to enhance your web capturing experience on OneNote for Mac.

For example, along with a Mac version, Microsoft is releasing a OneNote clipper browser plug-in for Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer that allows users to save clippings from webpages. This feature is being extended to third-party apps via a new cloud API [application programming interface] that provides developers with the ability to integrate OneNote clipping into their apps.
