Anker has introduced the second generation Astro2 external battery, now available at for US$44.99. It packs a 9,000mAh battery that can charge two mobile devices simultaneously.

The Astro2’s capacity charges most smartphones four to five times with a 3A charge output available between the two charging ports, according to Steven Yang, Anker founder and chairman. It features a power consumption Smart LED display to clearly indicate the remaining battery life.

You can simply give the Astro2 a quick shake to activate the battery and the LED power indicator. It measures 4.7 x 3.5 x 1.2 inches and weighs 8.8 ounces. It’s compatible with, among other devices, the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad (2, 3 and 4) and iPad mini. For more info go to .
