Apple is in talks with EPIX to stream films on the Apple TV and the rumored Apple-branded HDTV (the “iTV”), reports “Reuters” (http://macte.ch/ZOVcp), quoting “two people with knowledge of the negotiations.

One of the sources told “Reuters” that any discussions would apply to its set-top box and also to upcoming devices that stream content. “Apple is widely expected to unveil a full-fledged TV product later this year or in early 2013 to drive its next phase of growth and potentially revolutionize the industry,” says “Reuters.”

Epix is a joint venture of Viacom’s Paramount Pictures, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios. It offers a premium movie channel on pay-TV systems such as DISH Network.
