Proview’s lawsuit against Apple over the iPad trademark in China will continue unobstructed now that a court has blocked one creditor’s attempt to liquidate the company, reports “AppleInsider” (http://www.appleinsider.com).
Fubon Insurance had filed multiple requests to have the Shenzhen subsidiary of Proview liquidated without waiting for the former monitor maker to resolve its complaint against Apple. The creditor had said it didn’t believe Proview would win enough money from Apple to cover its debts.
In March the Bank of China Ltd. and several other creditors of Proview Technology Shenzhen said (http://macte.ch/noLzO) the “iPad” trademarks belong to them and not to Proview, potentially complicating a fight over the trademark between Proview and Apple.
Major creditors of Proview Electronics, which is challenging Apple’s use of the iPad trademark, moved to have the ailing computer monitor maker liquidated.
