The Iconfactory (http://www.iconfactory.com), a design firm specializing in icon and user interface design, and ARTIS Software have announced the availability of xScope 3.0 in the Mac App Store.

xScope 3.0 is a set of tools used by designers and developers to measure, inspect and test on-screen elements. Version 3 has been redesigned for clarity and optimized to take advantage of the latest Mac hardware. Over 70 new features and improvements encompass this release, including enhanced usability and a new look, SmartTools, a preference to display menubar items individually, edge snapping, an array of new screen sizes, and an accessibility simulator to aid in design for the visually impaired, according to Gedeon Maheux, Iconfactory founder, Gedeon Maheux.

The Mirror tool requires a companion app that’s a free universal download from the Apple App Store. xScope 3 is available from the Mac App Store via one-click ordering and is launching at a special 30% off price of US$19.99 for a limited time.

Free upgrades are available to users who purchased a license after July 14, 2011. A paid upgrade for purchases before that date is available for $19.99. Multi-user licenses for businesses can also be upgraded or purchased directly from the Iconfactory website.
