Elegant Chaos has announced Neu 1.2, an update to their file making utility for Mac OS X. The upgrade sports a reworked user interface, drag and droop support for document creation and adding templates, and more.
Neu is designed to simplify the creation of new documents in the Finder without having to open an application first. It does this by adding menus and global keyboard shortcuts that can be triggered from the Finder, or any other application, which allow you to choose a template to copy. The templates can contain substitutions which are filled in when you make the new document.
Neu requires Mac OS X 10.6.5 or above. It costs US$9.99 and is available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category.
