According to a “DigiTimes” report (, Apple plans to offer a MacBook Pro with a display resolution of 2880 x 1880 in the second quarter of 2012.

Presently, the highest resolution on the 15-inch MacBook Pro line is 1680×1050 pixels, and the highest resolution on the 17-inch model is 1920×1200 pixels (though both can display higher resolutions on external monitors such as the Thunderbolt display).
