August on “The MUG Event Calendar” closes out with some interesting meeting topics and some groups who are keeping members guessing.

Aaron Davis of Apple will present Mac OS X 10.7 (“Lion”) to a group in Virginia, while Peter Maurer of Many Tricks Software will show off their utilities to an Ohio group. A California FCP group will feature a triple threat presentation: Al Mooney of Adobe, and FCP experts Larry Jordan and Andy Neil, and several other FCP groups are keeping us guessing with meeting announcements but no specific subjects listed. A 24th anniversary picnic, social networking, quirky applications, iWork and more are all also on the roster for the week.

“The MUG Event Calendar” can be found at The MUG Center (http://www.mugcenter.com), an online resource for Mac User Groups. MUGs are good places for making new friends in the Mac community, improving your computing skills, finding solutions to technical problems, and perhaps locating a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s MUG page (http://www.apple.com/usergroups/).
