Griffin Technology has debuted the US$49.99 Survivor (http://www.griffintechnology.com/armored), their first case for iPhone 4 or iPod touch (fourth generation) to pass military endurance testing.

The Survivor, the first in Griffin’s new Armored collection, is a case designed to go anywhere and stand up to the toughest of environments, says Michael O’Connor, Quality Assurance Certification coordinator at Griffin. Designed and tested to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F and UK Department of Defense Standard 00-35, Griffin’s Survivor Extreme Duty Case is designed from the inside out to protect your iPhone or iPod from extreme conditions — dirt, sand, rain, shock, vibration — and other environmental factors, he adds.

Survivor is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in shock-absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals the Multi-Touch display from the outside environment, while hinged plugs seal the dock connector, headphone port, hold switch, volume controls, and camera. A detachable heavy-duty clip secures the iPhone or iPod to a belt or bag strap. The Survivor is available in a variety of colors: black, olive, pink and black, and white and black.
