TinyBooks Pro now a native Mac OS X app

Ken Winograd and Space-Time Associates (http://www.winograd.com) has updated TinyBooks Pro, its Mac accounting and bookkeeping program, to version 7.0.5. It’s now a native Mac application and requires an Intel-based Mac running OSX. (Rosetta is no longer required.)

The new TinyBooks Pro also includes Quarterly Bottom Line Reports, TypeAhead Comments, support for keyboard navigation, mouse scroll wheels, easier backups, resizable windows, and more.

SerialMailer update for Mac OS X adds database manager, more

Falkon Ware (http://www.falkonware.com) has updated its SerialMailer bulk email app for Mac OS X (10.4 and higher) to version 7.0. The upgrade adds a database manager, personalized attachments, test runs with separate databases and TLS support.

The date of the last successful mail delivery is saved for each recipient and tools for e-mail address verification were added. Data imported from the AddressBook now includes all available data fields and the support for CSV files has been improved.

InterMapper for Mac OS X updated to version 5.2.7

Dartware has updated InterMapper (http://www.intermapper.com/), Mac OS X compatible network monitoring software, to version 5.2.7. It’s a maintenance update with some bug fixes.

The probes test Apple’s Xserve, Xserve RAID, and Mac OS X Server component services including Web, FTP, AFP, NAT, Print, and QTSS. Debian builds are now built against libstdc++6 instead of libstdc++5; all currently supported Debian/Ubuntu releases ship with libstdc++6 by default. (78819, 78875)

VueScan 8.6.37 for Mac OS X changes maximum spot dust size

Hamrick Software has released Vuescan 8.6.37, a new version of the VueScan software for Mac OS X that’s designed to let users produce better digital images from color snapshots, negatives, slides and documents. The new version changes maximum dust spot size from 64 to 32 pixels for performance improvements.

The Standard Edition of VueScan costs US$39.95 and the Professional Edition is $79.95 for a single user license. Multi-user licenses are available. A fully functional, trial copy of VueScan is available for download from the Hamrick web site (http://www.hamrick.com).
