ArtOptimizer for Illustrator adds CS5 support

Zevrix (http://www.zevrix.com) has updated ArtOptimizer, its workflow automation solution for Adobe Illustrator, to version 2.5. The new version adds support for Creative Suite 5.

ArtOptimizer eliminates the excess image data of document links and performs image adjustments, reducing the size of an Illustrator job. In order to eliminate excess image data, the app automatically scales the images in Photoshop to match their dimensions in Illustrator, changes resolution according to the target resolution specified, and reimports images to Illustrator at 100%.

Playback Media Server gets redesigned media management system

Yazsoft has introduced Playback Media Server 1.6 (http://www.yazsoft.com/products/playback/information), an update of their zero configuration media server for Mac OS X 10.5 and higher. The upgrade sports a redesigned media management system.

Version 1.6 also improves Spotlight query performance. iTunes, iPhoto, and Aperture integration has been completely overhauled. The “playback_discovery” process has been eliminated. And version 1.6 adds support for Adobe Lightroom 3.
