QNAP refreshes Business Series Turbo NAS line-up

QNAP Systems (http://www.qnap.com) has announced the fall 2010 refresh of its Business Series Turbo NAS servers for SMB and corporate users.

New are the 2-drive TS-259 Pro+, the 4-drive TS-459 Pro+, the 5-drive TS-559 Pro+, and the 6-drive TS-659 Pro+ with up to 12TB of online storage (using 2TB hard drives). The new Business Series Turbo NAS Pro+ models incorporate new dual-core Intel Atom processor D525 with 1.8GHz clock speed and 1GB RAM, which can achieve up to 116MB/second transfer rates (FTP/Samba reads).

Matias releases iRizer stand for iPad

Matias has released the iRizer for iPad (http://matias.ca/irizer), an US$39.95, ultra-slim stand that’s adjustable to viewing angles from 20 to 70 degrees. And it packs flat so it’s portable.

“One thing we’re especially happy about is the material used to make this iRizer model,” Edgar Matias, CEO of Matias, says. “It’s a special organic composite, that’s 45% plant fiber. More details — including the speaker list and topics — are now available for the 2010 MacTech Conference (https://www.mactech.com/conference), which will be held Nov. 3-5, 2010, in Los Angeles at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City.
