Study: demand for mobile applications will help consumers overcome resistance to advertising

Consumer demand for mobile applications will wear down resistance to in-app mobile ads, propelling the North American market to $2 billion by the end of the year, according to a new report by Parks Associates (http://www.parkassociates.com). “Monetizing Downloadable Mobile Applications” shows North American in-app ad revenue will surpass US$860 million in 2014 and paid mobile app profits will exceed $4 billion.

Urban Anomaly has announced Invoice Robot 1.0, an iPad and iPhone application for creating and transmitting stylish, professional invoices in PDF format. The US$1.99 app provides a calculation template that can also be used for proposals, quotations and receipts.

Apple announced several revamped products at a Sept. 1 special event, including a new Apple TV. In this week’s poll, we’re asking if you plan to buy “take three” of the Apple TV. The poll can be found at the right hand side of our home page, below the Macsimum Opinion column.

In our last poll, we asked what was the most exciting Apple announcement last week. Fourty-four percent of you said the new Apple TV, 21% said the new iPod touch, 15% said the new iPod nano and 2% said the new iPod shuffle. And 19% said “none, I wanted a new Mac announcement.”
