IDC foresees robust update for 802.11n deployments

In the second quarter of 2010 (2Q10), the International Data Corp. (http://www.idc.com) found year-over-year revenue growth of 26.4%, and more modest 2.4% growth over a strong first quarter, for enterprise wireless local area networks (WLANs). The market enjoyed a strong performance across all regions and key product segments, especially for 802.11n technology.

Apple looking for ‘Liquidmetal’ engineers

Apple is hiring a number of experts on amorphous metals, as the company looks to create hardware constructed from a newly licensed, super-durable custom metal alloy known as “Liquidmetal,” reports “AppleInsider” (http://www.appleinsider.com).

The web site discovered a number of new job listings this week. Apple is looking for an amorphous metal development manager and two metal process development engineers to work at its Cupertino, California, corporate headquarters, says “AppleInsider.”
