Toshiba unveils Canvio USB 3.0 hard drives

Toshiba (http://www.toshibastorage.com) has introduced the CanvioM 3.0 portable hard disk drive (HDD) featuring a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. It’s available in storage capacities of 500 GB, 750GB or 1TB for US$119.99, $129.99 and $179.99, respectively.

Canvio 3.0 drives are backward compatibility with personal computers and other devices equipped with USB 2.0 ports. Which is good for Mac users as Macs don’t currently support USB 3.0.

Wondershare Software has released Wondershare Video Studio Express for Mac 1.0 (http://www.applemacvideo.com/mac-video-studio-express.html), a video editor and converter. It allows users to edit and customize their video clips, including merging, trimming, splitting, cropping, adding effects and rotating.

Wondershare Video Studio Express automatically detects DV cameras, camcorders, iPhone, iPod, and imports video clips from these devices. It largely facilitates the video editing effects with three timeline tracks to organize and manage video, audio, background music separately.

AlpineSoft has updated their vinyl-and-tape-to-CD-and-MP3 software, VinylStudio for the Mac, to version 7.5.5. It’s a maintenance release with some bug fixes and performance tweaks.

VinylStudio is a software solution for digitizing vinyl LPs and tapes. It records your records and tapes, splits those recordings into tracks, removes scratches, tape hiss and more and burns both audio and MP3 CDs and DVDs. You can also play your recordings on your computer. VinylStudio can look up track listings over the Internet and copy tracks to your iPod or MP3 player.
