Apple patent shows planned for beefed-up gaming on iOS devices

According to a new patent (number 20100279768) Apple is eyeing ways for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad users to use features of the devices — such motion detection, GPS and camera — to play and compete with others in a real-life 3D space.

The patent is for interactive gaming with co-located, networked direction and location-aware devices. An interactive game environment includes two or more co-located, networked, direction and location aware interactive game devices. The game devices share a common reference coordinate frame (e.g., a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate frame).

Jobs hints at update of Final Cut Pro

It’s been over seven month since Apple last updated Final Cut Pro. But that may be about to change. “Cult of Mac” (http://www.cultofmac.com/steve-stay-tuned-and-buckle-up-for-64-bit-final-cut-studio/67587) reports an email exchange between a Final Cut Pro user and Apple CEO Steve Jobs.


The article says Evan Agee recently emailed Jobs, expressing his hopes of a 64-bit update to Final Cut Pro. He purportedly received one of the CEO’s famed, succinct replies: “Stay tuned and buckle up.”
