Lexar launches Echo line of flash-based backup drives

Lexar Media (http://www.lexar.com), a provider of memory products for
digital media, has launched its Echo line of flash-based, backup
drives: the Lexar Echo SE and Lexar Echo ZE. The line is designed to
protect valuable data on netbook and notebook computers.

The Echo SE is a portable drive that plugs into a computer’s USB port
to perform automatic backup and transfer of files, at read speeds up
to 28MB/second and write speeds up to 10MB/s.

Apple App Store downloads top two billion

Apple says that more than two billion apps have been downloaded from
the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/), the largest
applications store in the world. There are now more than 85,000 apps
available to the more than 50 million iPhone and iPod touch customers
worldwide and over 125,000 developers in Apple’s iPhone Developer
Program.

“The rate of App Store downloads continues to accelerate with users
downloading a staggering two billion apps in just over a year,
including more than half a billion apps this quarter alone,” says
Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
