management, has announced a free, time limited version of its asset
management suite FileWave Inventory.

VPN Tracker for Mac OS X now supports SonicWALL TZ 100, TZ 200

Equinux (http://www.equinux.com) has released VPN Tracker 6.1, the
newest version of its IPSec-based VPN client for Mac OS X. The
upgrade supports the SonicWALL TZ 100 and TZ 200, the latest
additions of the TZSeries UTM appliances that are aimed at small to
mid-sized businesses.

Additionally, VPN Tracker now includes Mode Config support for
additional VPN gateways and has greater interoperability with a range
of other devices, making it simpler to configure and administrate
Macs in a virtual private network.

MacLockPick gets streamlined user interface

MacForensicsLab (http://www.macforensicslab.com) has updated
MacLockPick — a live forensics tool for extracting passwords,
Internet history, and system settings from a suspect’s Mac OS X
computer — to version 2.2, which sports a streamlined user interface.

Designed for law enforcement professionals, it’s based on a USB Flash
drive that can be inserted into a suspect’s Mac OS X computer that is
running (or sleeping).

TextWrangler update for Mac OS X adds new command-line tool, more

Bare Bones Software has released TextWrangler 3.1
(http://www.barebones.com/support/textwrangler/current_notes.html),
an update to the text editor. The new version introduces a new
command-line tool, “twfind,” which provides access to the app’s
multi-file searching from the Unix command line.

In addition, FTP/SFTP browsers now feature a “New” button allowing
for the creation of new files and folders directly within the browser
window.

Dooble web browser for Mac OS X has been released

Dooble (http://dooble.sf.net), an open source web browser for Mac OS
X, has been released. There are versions for Windows, Linux,
Openmoko, Ubuntu, Pardus and the Nokia N900.

According to its developers, one of the application’s most important
goals is to safeguard the privacy of its community with a group of
integrated privacy features of the browser: search engine, secure
messenger and e-mail client. It uses the integrated, distributed
search engine, YaCy.
