Jasra has announced Josh & Emma Go to the Beach 1.0 for iPad users. This is an US$0.99 story for young children, ages two to four, about a brother and sister who explore the beach. Along the way there are opportunities for interaction that teaches little ones about counting, colors and object names. The app has a child narrator’s voice.

Webrich Software has released My Data Usage Pro 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The $0.99 app enables you to count every last byte you download to prevent exceeding your monthly data limit. My Data Usage Pro has in-built algorithm to automatically detect how much data is used when on a cellular network like 3G, 4G, Edge, GSM, or any other cellular network as well as how much data is used on the Wi-Fi network.

Funny Farm Industries has introduced Pickin’ Chicken 1.0 for iOS, a $2.99, illustrated guide to over 75 different breeds of chickens. Designed for eco-conscious urban farmers, backyard chicken enthusiasts, 4-H and FFA members, and full-time farmers, the app allows the user to find the ideal chicken breed for eggs, meat, personality, or any combination. Included are 14 search categories, over 250 photos, a glossary of terms, a list of resources, and tips on chicken care.

TripCraft says the mobile app it developed for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is available for download via the on Apple App Store. Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and compatible with iPad, the complimentary app offers travelers the ability to book, modify, and cancel “real-time” reservations, browse detailed Mandarin Oriental hotel information, explore destination guides and more.

Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) has unveiled FHinspector for iPad, a free app designed to improve the quality of fire inspections and allows information to be easily shared with firefighters, giving them access to critical data in an emergency. ACS is a provider of fire and EMS software solutions with more than 15,000 customers in the United States along with U.S. Department of Defense installations around the world.

Apps of All Nations (http://www.appsofallnations.com) has launched its series of interactive children’s books for the iPad. Each book functions as its own app, so no viewer is required – you can just put the icons of your kids’ favorite books on an iPad screen and launch them when they’re ready for some fun reading. The company offers books in English, Danish, French, Italian and German, with many of the books featuring international characters.

Gameloft has served up the first half of a free comic based on the newly released Star Battalion. The comic tells the story behind Star Battalion and of the two brothers battling for control of the galaxy.

Koren Projects has updated TrueKeyboard for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users to version 1.0.1. Developed to take advantage of the iPhone retina display, TrueKeyboard is a $1.99 notes application that features a full, 3D ergonomic keyboard for typing, complete with arrows and number pad. Messages can be sent to others via email or SMS from within the extremely easy-to-use app. Users are able to adjust the color of the keyboard, share notes and drawings with others and more.
