Chillingo and indie game developer Zeptolab have announced Cut the Rope, an US$0.99 puzzle game for the iPhone. It combines physics oriented gameplay, brightly, colored visuals and a range of challenges.

RacquetTune is a new $0.99 iPhone app that checks whether a tennis racquet is correctly strung by analyzing the sound of the strings. A couple of taps on the strings, and racquetTune analyzes the sound of the racquet and displays the tension with high accuracy.

TripnDo and New York Pass have released their New York Adventure Guide for iOS, which provides users with the opportunity to explore New York via short and fun activities. The $0.99 app features trivia and on-line videos about different places of interest, as well as on-line maps that help to orientate and navigate between the city’s attractions.

TouchUp for iPad 1.0 ($2.99) brings creative photo editing to Apple’s mobile device. With TouchUp, iPad owners can paint image effects and adjustments directly onto their photos. The enhanced photos can be saved back to the photo library or shared via email, Facebook and Twitter.

Thinking Drone has released Find Sex Offenders Free! for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. This free app lets users locate registered sex offenders in all 50 states with a single touch.

Appdicted has introduced Censor It 1.0 for iOS. Censor The app — available for $0.99 for a limited time — allows users to add censored logo’s and graphics to any photo using the iPhone camera or photo’s from their photo albums. Users can choose from over 40 classic graphics such as a censored logo, parental advisory logo, blurred face and much more.

Mobwe has unveiled World Ahead 1.0, an app that allows iPhone 3GS/4 owners to take a “peek” behind the horizon. By simply moving a compass equipped device, one can see the countries, oceans and seas located in the pointed direction. World Ahead 1.0 is available for free (with an upgrade option).

Venikom Mobile has introduced Instant Status Updates 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. The $0.99 device is designed to help you update your statuses faster. It also saves your time, shares your statuses in the fastest way and shares your exact location. Instant Status also includes geo tagging. By sharing the status people can also share their location with their Facebook and Twitter friends.

Tal Shrestha has produced Instant Lyrics 1.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. Rather than relying on a limited song lyric database, this $1.99 app searches thousands of web sites for the right lyrics with one tap of the screen. Instant Lyrics 1.0 can not only find the lyrics for any song in the user’s device, but it can find them in any language.

Mirage Labs is offering Flexicorder 1.0 for the iPhone. A $0.99 video recording app, Flexicorder allows both front and back cameras for the iPhone 4 to be used during a single recording session. It also allows many output resolutions and bit rates for video to be saved.

Yap has rolled out Yap Voicemail for the iPhone. The app automatically converts voicemails into text. iPhone users running iOS4.1 can download Yap Voicemail by going to http://itunes.com/Yap/YapVoicemail .

Left Coast Logic has announced SmartCal 1.0.1 for the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s a $4.99, integrated calendar and planner. The app syncs with the iPhone calendar, which provides onward connectivity with iCal, Outlook and other popular calendars. SmartCal uses one-touch filters to prioritize tasks, then integrates them directly into the calendar.

Steve Glinberg has updated 123 Sticker HD — Talking Sticker Book for the iPad to version 1.0.2. With the $1.99 app children build and paint sticker scenes while listening to fun sound effects, 25 popular children’s songs, and color names spoken in multiple languages. The latest version features a Halloween themed sticker scene and four scenes in all.

Tap ‘n Cap Apps has rolled out Tap ‘n Cap 1.2.0.1, an update to the $0.99 photo captioning app for iOS devices. This update makes it even easier to caption your favorite photos, bringing with it some features such as new fonts, and the ability to upload photos directly to Facebook within the app.

Stevenson Software has unveiled Landscaper’s Companion for iPad 1.3. The $9.99 iPad app contains information for over 1,400 different plants, features over 5,700 pictures and sorts plants into 16 categories. Users can search for trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials by their common name, scientific name, sun exposure, zone or watering requirements. Most plants listed in the guide also include cultivation information, and more.

Second Gear has announced MarkdownMail 2, the latest version of the $3.99 text editor for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It lets you compose HTML emails and blog posts on your iOS device. Based around John Gruber’s Markdown markup syntax, you can now send emails with bold text, italics, bulleted lists and more. MarkdownMail will convert your Markdown formatted messages into an HTML message that you can send to your friends, family or colleagues.

Coladia has released Secret of the Lost Cavern HD 1.1 for iPad ($9.99). It’s an adventure game that plunges the player into a journey that takes place during the Paleolithic period in prehistoric time, 15,000 years B.C. You venture through a wild time and decipher the symbols left by our ancestors. Version 1.1 includes English, French, Spanish, Italian and German localizations, as well as Facebook support.
