Earlier this month Apple added the ability to preview iPhone/iPod touch apps via iTunes Preview. Now it’s added the ability to browse application categories.

Last November Apple launched iTunes Preview, a web site that gives customers the option to view content without launching the application. Now Apple lets you preview iPhone apps in your browser, as well.

Links to an iTunes Preview page can be obtained through the iTunes Store “Copy Link” feature. The page allows browsing of artists and albums. Artist biographies and similar acts can be viewed, as well as details on song prices and individual track lengths. iTunes Preview also offers album reviews and customer reviews.

When iTunes Previews launched, you couldn’t listen to a sample of music tracks from your browser. However, Apple added that feature earlier this year. Today Apple added the ability to view information on software within the Apple App Store without launching iTunes.
