Boris FX announces Boris Continuum Complete 6 AVX for Avid DS

Boris FX (http://www.borisfx.com) has announced
Boris Continuum Complete 6 AVX for Avid DS (BCC 6
AVX for DS). Based on Avid’s AVX 1 plug-in
architecture, BCC 6 AVX for DS brings nearly 180
filters to 64-bit versions of Avid DS.

The release features over 30 new filters,
including Pixel Fixer, DV Fixer, and Smooth Tone
tools; Swish Pan, Cartoon Look, Pencil Sketch,
and Water Color effects; and OpenGL-accelerated
effects such as 3D Extruded Image Shatter,
Damaged TV, Glint, Glare, Glitter, LED, Lens
Flare, Lightning, Prism, Scanline, and Tile
Mosaic.

OWC announces new Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 line

has announced the new Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2, a
plug and play desktop hardware RAID storage
solution that features a quad interface of
FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB 2.0, and eSATA
ports.

It also sports four Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive
bays and four user selectable hardware RAID
settings. The Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 offers up
to 8TB of total storage capacity and data
transfer speeds up to 300MB/second.

CinemaView LCD displays for Macs announced

Collins America has announced the world’s first product line of
native Mini DisplayPort connected LCD displays made just for Macs.
The first three models will be available before Sept. 1.

Since Apple transitioned its entire Mac product line to the new Mini
DisplayPort jack for connecting external displays no manufacturer has
offered plug-compatible display products.

Tension Software has released Url Extractor X 3.0

Extractor X is a Mac OS X app for extracting emails address and
generic URLs from files on the HD or directly from the web using a
list of “starting” web addresses and working unattended after the
startup.

Url Extractor can extract thousands of URLs from the web starting

REAL Software ships REALbasic 2009 Release 2

REAL Software (http://realsoftware.com), creator of REALbasic, a

Windows and Linux, is now shipping REALbasic 2009 Release 2. This
release includes more than 70 improvements and 18 new features,
including COM automation support for Windows and support for MySQL.

Studio that’s geared specifically for full-time commercial software
developers.
