Adobe has released the final Photoshop Lightroom 2.4 and Camera Raw
5.4 updates, available for immediate download at
http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Both updates bring additional raw file support to 31 camera and
camera back models including the Canon EOS 500D, Nikon D5000 and 18
Hasselblad models. In addition, Adobe released an update to its
Digital Negative specification (DNG), the public archival format for
digital camera raw data.

Zevrix Solutions (http://www.zevrix.com) announces the release of
Instant Backup 1.6, an update to its simple solution to securely back
up data on-line and locally. Instant Backup is designed to back up
the most important and sensitive projects just when you need it, to
ensure they’re always extra safe.

Instant Backup is not a replacement for the complete computer backup
systems, such as Time Machine. The power of Instant Backup is in its
simplicity and flexibility which allows you to securely backup
selected files and folders just when you need it.

Turing Technologies
(http//www.turningtechnologies.com) has released
TurningPoint AnyWhere, interactive polling
software for Mac and PC systems. Combined with
Turning’s ResponseCard keypads or ResponseWare, a
web-based polling application, creates a wireless
response and voting system allowing presenters to
ask interactive questions within their preferred
presentation application.

Those applications can include PowerPoint or Mac
Keynote presentations, Word documents, Excel
spreadsheets, PDF content, web pages, multimedia,
and more.

PremiumSoft has released a new edition to its Navicat line
(http://www.navicat.com) of database administration tools. Navicat
Premium lets users manage different kinds of database servers within
a single application.

Supported database servers include MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
Navicat Premium users can transfer or migrate data between different
database types or to a plain text file with designated SL formatting
and encoding.

XChange UK (http://www.xchangeuk.com/) and ThePowerXChange.com have
released FlightAlert XT for QuarkXPress 8. It’s compatible with Mac
OS X and Windows and costs approximately US$139.

FlightAlert XT combines on-the-fly error checking of QuarkXPress
documents with a “Collect For Output” engine. The software scans
QuarkXPress documents for the key problems. FlightAlertoperates in
the background as users work.

FlightAlert can be set to scan on Open, Close, Save, Save As, Save
Page as EPS and Collect for Output.
