SoniVox (http://www.sonivoxmi.com) has announced Playa, a hop hop
virtual instrument for Mac and PC systems. It’s designed for
sequencing, beat construction, and hands-on remixing.

Playa’s user interface bridges the gap between MPC style beat
creation and the computer based virtual instrument environment. It
allows users to interface their MIDI pad controllers and controller
keyboards directly with the software. What’s more, Playa is packed
with a set of instruments, all recorded and programmed by SoniVox’s
sound design team.

Playa offers Mac stand-alone, AU, VST and RTAS compatibility. It’s
due for a February release at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price
of US$149 (though it will be available for a limited time for $99).
