Morrison Software
(http://www.morrisonsoftdesign.com/with_fl/index.html) has released
version 7.6 of FontDoctor for the Mac. It offers updated support for:
Quark, Microsoft, and Adobe font caches; older font suitcases; and
bad PostScript file names. It also offers updated diagnosis of font
compatibility issues with Mac OS X

FontDoctor will scan font folders (on local hard drives or over a
network) to locate and repair common font illnesses, including
missing Postscript fonts, missing bitmaps, corrupt/damaged fonts,
font ID conflicts, extra fonts sizes, mixed fonts types and more. Now
you can use it to organize your fonts by font name, family name,
alphabetically or other options. FontDoctor will also print font
sample sheets, convert Windows fonts to Mac fonts (and vice-versa),
and generate font diagnosis and organization reports as needed.

The cost is US$69.99 for a single user license. FontDoctor supports
TrueType (Macintosh and Windows (.ttf) versions), PostScript Type 1,
PostScript Type 3, Multiple Master fonts, OpenType fonts, DataFork
fonts, and bitmap fonts.
