Pangea today announced that their popular Mac game programming reference, “Pangea Software’s Ultimate Game Programming Guide for Mac OS X,” is now a free download on their Web site.  “Our loss is everyone’s gain,” said Brian Greenstone, president of Pangea Software. “The warehouse that does our order fulfillment somehow managed to lose our entire inventory of the book, so rather than manufacture more copies we’ve decided to release it as a freely downloadable PDF file, complete with sample code.” The book covers all of the nuances dealing with various Mac OS technologies such as the HID Manager, OpenGL, OpenAL, Core Graphics, Rendezvous, Quicktime, and more.  Readers will also learn how to write a plug-in for Maya, do stereo 3D rendering, networking, AltiVec optimizations, and even how to copy-protect their games.
