Apple will open a new retail store at The Summit Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama on April 14, 2007. The Apple Store The Summit, which is located at 217 Summit Boulevard, will open to the public on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. CT. As part of its usual Grand Opening celebrations, Apple will give away a free Apple t-shirt to the first 1,000 visitors. In addition, visitors can enter a Grand Opening Sweepstakes to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection valued at US$2,573.95.

Trans International announced today it is now shipping a 160GB Seagate Momentus 7200 RPM SATA drive (2.5”) as internal and external Storage Solution for the MacBook, MacBook Pro and Mac mini (intel Core). The company says that the drive increases system productivity approximately 25 percent over that of 5400-RPM drives, and features a SATA 3Gb/s interface with Native Command Queuing (NCQ).
