Dover Studios has announced the release of “Shake: Compositing Workflow,” their latest visual effects training DVD. The tutorial is an introduction to node-based compositing for visual effects artists working in film and television. Shake is the compositing program of choice for many high-end film and television productions around the world. XAR compression comes to Mac OS X

Apimac has released a new version of its compression tool that supports the creation of XAR archives. XAR, or eXtensible ARchive format, is a new way to compress files. XAR was created within the OpenDarwin project and will be also used in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard for software installation routines (replacing gzipped pax files). With the release of Compress Files 3.0, now Mac OS X users have an easy to use tool to compress files in this new format.

Koingo product line now Leopard compatible

Koingo Software has announced full Leopard compatibility for all fourteen of their applications, after releasing a slew of updates. These updates are free for all previous customers, as per the business’ policy. Additionally, licenses are valid for both the Mac and PC versions of their cross-platform titles.
